That is it from this game then, an excellent win for the hosts and agony for the Windies. Cricketing action from the qualifiers will continue on Sunday as there are two games coming your way. Sri Lanka will be taking on Ireland and Oman will be playing Scotland. Those games will begin at 1230 IST (0700 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Craig Ervine says he has strain in his calf and he did not want to risk it by going out on the field. Adds Sean Williams is an experienced campaigner and he knows what to do and what not to. Mentions, the wicket was a little two paced and they did get a few stands but the guys who get starts need to kick on. Reckons they did feel they were 20-30 short. Mentions they take ever team equally and all the sides are capable of causing an upset. Ends by thanking the supporters.
Shai Hope says they are disappointed with how they played. Admits the fielding let them down and the batting was not upto the mark. Says they know the areas they need to work on now and they will do that.
Sikandar Raza, MAN OF THE MATCH SAYS, they felt they were around 25 to 30 short but they beleived that they can defend this. They never doubted Tendai Chatara, Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani and the fans were exceptional. Ends by thanking them for their support.
... TIME FOR PRESENTATION ...
For West Indies, they will be very disappointed, they probably lost a game they should have won. However, whenever they moved ahead in this game, they were pegged back by the hosts. Kyle Mayers got to a fifty and a few others got off to starts but none of them went onto make it big. However, the Windies were poor throughout, first, they let Zimbabwe off the hook with some poor fielding and bowling towards the end which saw the hosts score close to 270 and then with the bat, they just under performed.
The key was Zimbabwe just fought till the end, they just never gave up and in the end, have come out on top brilliantly. The three, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza with their wickets in the middle overs got them back into the game and then in the end, it was Tendai Chatara who got the crucial wickets. It was a combined effort and an outstanding performance from the hosts.
Boy oh boy! What a cracker of a game we have witnessed here at Harare Sports Club. The momentum of the game swung like a pendulum from one corner to another and Zimbabwe pulled off an amazing victory here at the end. Agony for the Windies' side as they had the upper hand in the game most of the time!
