Right then, that is it from the game. The series is level now and it all comes down to the final decider. That game will be on Friday, the 22nd of December. It will begin at 1.30 am IST (8 pm GMT, previous day). Do join us for the early build up as well. Until then, take care, and cheers!
England skipper Jos Buttler says that it was a phenomenal effort to get back after losing two games. Shares that he is delighted with the win and really enyoyed batting with Phil Salt. Adds that he just wanted to gather infomation in the field and be a bit closer to the bowlers and that's why he did not take the gloves today. Ends by saying that both sides have played well and they hope to end the series with a win.
West Indies skipper Rovman Powell says that he credits the English side for batting really well. Mentions that they failed to execute the plans with the ball. Adds that they will hope to enjoy the final game and the boys will be up for the challenge. Ends by saying that they need to give the guys some space and this will help them to execute better.
The player of the match Phil Salt is up for a chat. He says that he is really enjoying his time and he is looking forward to the decider. Adds that it is really satisfying and the changes in his game are giving him rewards. Mentions that it was a little trickly upfront but once the ball got soft, they took the advantage. Closes by saying that he did enjoy taking the gloves and hopes to carry on the form.
Time for the post match presentations...
Earlier in the game, England set a target of 267 runs which was the fifth-highest innings total. Phil Salt and Jos Buttler put up 117 for the first wicket in 9.5 overs, setting the stage, and England took off quickly after that. Salt stormed to a 48-ball century while Jacks hammered 24 off 9 from No. 3. while Livingstone made a quickfire fifty. West Indies bowlers failed to pick wickets and that is what led them to such a mammoth total.
West Indies will be upset with their bowling effort. They started well with the bat but were always under pressure. Brandon King was dismissed on a golden duck. Their middle order chipped in from some cameos while Andre Russell made a terrific fifty but it just wasn't enough. They will look to bounce back from this and win the final game and the series.
That was a convincing win for the visitors and the series is now level at 2-2. England were off to a shaky start with the ball, but they made sure they kept on picking wickets. They picked a wicket whenever a good partnership was brewing for the Windies. None of their bowlers were wicketless, but Adil Rashid was the most economical of all. They will look to win the following game now as well as this series.
