The skipper of Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal says they are very proud to perform in this format. They were not happy when the results were not going their way in this tour but the staff and players were keen to win it. Adds that the next ODI World Cup is the biggest event and they need to get a proper balance. Shares that in the Test match, he got runs but failed to make it big. He just tries to be in the rhythm. On Nasum Ahmed, he is brilliant and was unbelievable with the ball.
Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies captain says it was a tough day and does not really want to talk about it. Says that they need to chat about what went wrong and work out what is going wrong. Says they need to apply themselves while batting and the team are like a family and they will work it out together. He informs that they have not been able to score more than 200 runs recently and they are a young group and will figure it out soon. Accepts that they need to bat properly and get a good total on the board and says more they play and stick together they will get better. Says the need to keep fighting and overcome the challenges and eventually figure out a way to win.
Nasum Ahmed is the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling effort. He says he was excited for the opportunity. Adds that he just tried to bowl in the right areas and tells that his new celebration means - a new tiger is coming.
Stay tuned for the Presentation...
It was hard on the bowlers of West Indies! They didn't have enough runs to play with and the spinners were not that tight as well. Gudakesh Motie got a breakthrough but they failed to create enough chances to ask questions. The first innings almost declared the results as the Windies batters failed miserably. Bangladesh came with three spinners and took 8 wickets overall. More than their bowling it was the Windies' batting that lacked a good effort.
The Bangladeshi batters showed that with calmness and game awareness, a foundation could've been set up but it lacked from the Windies' side. Bangladesh started with discipline and once both the openers had an eye on how the pitch is playing, they started to score runs freely. Najmul Hossain Shanto fell but Litton Das made sure there was no further damage done. The skipper showed resilience and scored a fifty in the process.
A comprehensive win for Bangladesh! It was never in doubt and more than half of their job was done by the bowlers and there were not many hiccups with the bat as well. With that, Bangladesh seal the series as they go 2-0 up with a comprehensive 9-wicket win!
