That is it from this match. Time for the Men's to give some entertainment as Welsh Fire and Southern Brave will face each other shortly. Switch the tabs and join us there.
Georgia Adams is the Player of the Match. She says the adrenaline kicked right in the end but the team did well. Adds the wicket was on the slower side and the team bowled well. Reckon they did well to restrict Welsh to such a score. Shares it is great to get the team over the line and is happy to get some runs. Tells the tournament is all about small margins and this win feels nice.
In reply, Southern Brave Women build a good stand with Smriti Mandhana and Maia Bouchier. They two were going along well but lost both quickly. Georgia Adams then picked up from there and kept the required run rate in check. She too fell after playing a match-winning innings and there were a couple of run outs in the fag end as well but in the last ball, Anya Shrubsole kept her nerves and got his team over the line.
What a match! What an entertaining match. It came right down to the wire. Welsh Fire Women finally face their first defeat. They though fought hard and almost had the match! As we said early on, Welsh Fire Women were 15-20 runs short. When Sophia Dunkley was in the middle, the way she was hitting, Welsh Fire Women were up for a score around 160 but Southern Brave Women pulled back well.
