We are back for the second essay! The Indian players make their way out to the middle.
... THE RUN CHASE ...
So, that is it from this game then! On the 22nd, we will find out the first team to reach the finals as Perth Scorchers will be taking on Sydney Sixers in what is called the Qualifier. That game will begin at 1345 IST (0815 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Matthew Short is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says that Carey is top class and took a bit of pressure off him at the start. He adds that he is happy to get the early wicket of Ben McDermott because he has been striking it really well throughout the tournament. On being asked about Peter Siddle, he says that he just keeps on getting younger and he led from the front again. Ends by saying that they are looking forward to the next match and will look to win that one as well.
Adelaide bowled brilliantly! They knew the square boundaries are the bigger ones and they made Hobart hit in that direction. They kept banging it in and bowled the slower ones to great use. Except for Head who bowled just the one over, every other bowler got a wicket at least. Siddle was the pick with a four-fer. Quite a clinical show with the ball and the bat by the Strikers.
In reply, Hobart lost two in no time and two big ones. Short then came to his own and revived the hopes of his side. He though hardly got any support from Handscomb who was struggling to score freely. There was a time where it seemed like Hobart are back into the game but once Short fell, wickets fell very quickly. In the end, it was too much of a task for the lower-order and they fell well short.
That is a thumping win for Adelaide and their march towards the final continues! For Hobart, that is the end of the road. to be honest, they just never deserved to win this one. Right from ball one they were under par. their bowlers were poor and their fielding was even worse. It was the first innings where the game completely slipped away from them. Despite pulling things back at the end brilliantly, the early effort from Carey and Short saw Adelaide get close to the 190 run mark.

OUT! Cleaned up! Peter Siddle has sent his side through to the Knockout! A perfect yorker, delivered on off stump. Riley Meredith backs away and looks to jam it out but it is just quick for him. The ball hits the off stump on the full and the Strikers are absolutely elated. ADELAIDE STRIKERS WIN BY 22 RUNS!
