Our build-up for both games will begin much sooner. Till then, take care and goodbye.
P Saravanan is adjudged the player of the match for his stellar showing with the ball.
Coming to the chase, Madurai started off watchfully and lost skipper Hari Nishaanth in the Powerplay. There was then a steady stand between Suresh Lokeshwar and Jagatheesan Kousik which put them in command but the scoring rate was still a bit slow. They did lose a couple of quick wickets as both the set-batters got out. But, Swapnil Singh and Washington Sundar came out and the pair took their side over the line with 3 overs to spare. Trichy had a low score on the board but T Natarajan and Easwaran K bowled pretty well. In the end though, Trichy succumbed to a fifth successive defeat and remain winless in this tournament, getting knocked out of the playoffs race in the process as well.
That's it, Madurai have won the match and they have done so pretty convincingly as well. After Trichy skipper G Sridhar Raju won the toss and opted to put runs on the board, they were off to a very shaky start, losing both openers inside the first two overs. Mani Bharathi and Darryl Ferrario then got together a started a repair job for Trichy. However, it all went downhill for them post the departure of Daryl. Mani Bharathi played a lone hand but kept running out of partners. As a result, Trichy were rolled over for 105 without playing the quota of 20 overs. For Madurai, P Saravanan was the standout bowler with figures of 3 for 23 from his four overs.
