Right then, that will be it from us for this contest. We hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
Scotland Women did not have a huge score to defend but they did show some fight with the ball to drag the game till the 16th over. Rachel Slater and Kathryn Bryce started well upfront while the spin trio of Katherine Fraser, Abtaha Maqsood, and Olivia Bell put a stranglehold on the run-scoring and took a couple of wickets among them. If only they had batted well and got 20-30 more runs, the game could have been interesting. Earlier today, Scotland Women made just 58 on the back of 24 from Sarah Bryce while the rest failed to get into double digits apart from Rachel Slater who was unbeaten on 10. Udeshika Prabodani and Sachini Nisansala were the pick of the Sri Lanka Women's bowlers. Scotland Women have shown good promise in the first two games which holds them up for the tournament while Sri Lanka Women will be confident going into the main round of the competiton with two wins under their belt.
A hard-fought run chase from Sri Lanka Women sees them defeat the Scotland Women by 5 wickets. Chasing a lowish score of 59 for the win, Sri Lanka Women lost their openers inside the first two overs but Harshitha Madhavi and Kaveesha Dilhari batted sensibly and added 29 for the third wicket. Kaveesha Dilhari played a composed knock of 27 off 34 but the rest of the unit struggled to get going. The Women from the Island nation managed to get home in the 16th over.
