That concludes the proceedings for this game. Three easy wins for Australia Women and they are sitting pretty on top of the table in Group A. On Friday, 17th February, a couple of matches are lined up - New Zealand Women vs Bangladesh Women at 6.30 pm IST (1 pm GMT) and West Indies Women vs Ireland Women at 10.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT). Do join us in advance for our build-up. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Meg Lanning, the captain of Australia Women,  says that it was a great game. Adds that Grace Harris standing up to bowl and taking some wickets showcases the depth they have. She adds that people standing up at different times is the strength of her team, just like how Grace stood up today. She also states that she has enjoyed the conditions here but they are ready to take whatever the conditions are. Tells that they are looking forward to playing South Africa Women in their home conditions after getting a day's break. Signs off by saying that the support has been incredible.
Chamari Athapaththu, the captain of Sri Lanka Women, says that they needed to score 150 plus on this wicket. Mentions that the Aussies have a really strong batting unit and a score of 112 wasn't good enough. She adds that they are doing well in the Powerplay but not in overs 6 to 15 and that's where they are losing out. Feels that the bowlers need to take wickets early on as that's the only way they can defend any total.
For three stumpings and 54 unbeaten runs with the bat, Alyssa Healy is picked for the Player of the Match award. Says that it was tough going at times but nice to get the win and nice to have a good game as a unit. On her opening partner, she adds that they complement each other really well and Beth Mooney makes life easy for her at the top as she hits the gaps well and this gives her a chance to play her strokes freely. Shares that the wicket is playing well and the team is chasing down well so she is happy that things are going nicely. Boasts about Australia's bench strength by saying that someone like Jess Jonassen is not getting a chance. Also adds that the spin department is doing well and they are gelling well as a unit. Cites Grace Harris as an example who turned up and picked wickets. Healy feels that they are heading in the right direction.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
There was no spark in the performance of Sri Lanka Women. They needed a good total on the board to challenge the Aussies with their spinners but once Chamari Athapaththu got dismissed, their batting inning lost all the momentum. The Lankans huffed and puffed past the 100-run mark but that was never going to be enough to bother the defending champions. Australia Women have now won 14 consecutive games chasing a target in T20Is and they are on a hot streak.
The defending champions continue to steamroll the teams in their group! Yet another commanding show from them - both with the ball and bat. They had a paltry target to chase and the pair of Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney scaled it down without breaking a sweat. Mooney spent some valuable time in the middle and regained her lost touch.
