Sydney Sixers beat Adelaide Strikers by 4 wickets

So, we are done with this match. The main event, the GRAND FINALE is the next one. Sydney Sixers will face Perth Scorchers on Friday, 28th January at 2:10 pm IST (8:40 am GMT). But as usual, the build-up will begin much earlier, so do join us. Until then, goodbye and take care!
Who else but Hayden Kerr is the Player of the Match. He says that he kept calm and wanted to take it ball-by-ball. Tells that he is glad to get the job done and take the team home. Mentions that it was very unfortunate that Josh Philippe got ruled out and he was told in the afternoon that he will be opening in the game. Says that Jordan Silk is still struggling with his injury from the last game. Ends by saying that he is just trying to recall the winning moment.
... The Presentation ...
Adelaide Strikers desevered to go through to be honest, they were unscattered for a while coming into this game but a bad play and a few missed chances have caused them the game. Their bowlers were top notch giving away nothing. A partnership between Kerr and Abbott took the game away and a wonderful season comes with a disappointing end. Earlier in the day, after an early trouble, Ian Cockbain and Jonathan Wells did well to build a partnership and then cameo from Matt Renshaw helped the Strikers to post a decent total. No one except Kerr and Abbott showed a fight and the match was poised nicely till the last ball and Sydney Sixers came out victoriuosly.
HAYDEN KERR, remember the name. There was a chance for the Strikers to get him out on the very first ball, there was a dropped catch as well when he was batting at 16 and here he is hitting the winning runs and taking his team into the final. A shot in your own arm is what replicates Adelaide Strikers right now. They didn't take their chances and now will miss a chance to play in the finals. If not for Kerr's innings, the Sixers would have been nowhere near the chase. Although Kerr was given life, he made most of it. There was no support from the other end, Jake Carder and Moises Henriques got a start but then fell. Sean Abbott then showed a good fight as his innings turned out to be the turning point. 41 off just 20 balls, changed the course of the game. 12 were needed off the last over and Hayden Kerr took his team over the line.
SYDNEY SIXERS MARCH INTO THE FINALS. One of the great knocks you will see in a BBL match. It needed nerves and Hayden Kerr delivered when it mattered the most. Take a bow young man. You have single-handedly taken your team into the finals.

FOUR! What a game of cricket! There is a misfield in the deep. Can you believe it? Adelaide Strikers would be so so gutted. Harry Conway hurls in and bowls a length ball, on the pads. Hayden Kerr flicks it uppishly over mid-wicket and calls for two. The fielder from deep mid-wicket runs to his right and bends to collect the ball but the pressure got to him. He fumbles and the ball sneaks through his hands and finds the fence. SYDNEY SIXERS WIN BY 4 WICKETS!
Who is up for a Super Over? 2 runs needed in the last ball. Jordan Silk is coming out as retired hurt. Jay Lenton walks out to replace him.

SIX! Smacked! Good effort in the deep but the ball goes over the ropes. Slower delivery, on middle and leg. Hayden Kerr goes down on his knee and lofts it towards long on. The fielder there almost pulls off a stunner as he leaps and tries to catch the ball. But at the end, it goes over him and for a biggie.

Length and on middle. Silk hits it to deep mid-wicket for a single. Hayden Kerr back on strike.
Jordan Silk walks out to the middle. What an over this is turning out to be for Adelaide Strikers!

OUT! RUN OUT! Another wicket for Adelaide Strikers. Ben Dwarshuis departs without even facing a ball. This was on a length, on middle. Hayden Kerr tucks it to deep square leg. He calls for two but Ben Dwarshuis was unsure. He starts running but was late and so Hayden Kerr sends him back. Matt Renshaw from the deep throws the ball towards Alex Carey. It wasn't a great throw but Carey did well to run Ben Dwarshuis out.
Nerves, nerves, nerves, Ben Dwarshuis walks out. Kerr will be on the strike though.

OUT! CAUGHT! Sean Abbott departs but he has done his job here. Although, he would have wanted to take his team over the line. Harry Conway bowls a length ball, outside off. Sean Abbott reaches out for it and lifts it towards wide of long off. Travis Head keeps calm, settles under it and pouches it with ease.
Who will bowl the final over? Harry Conway it is. 12 needed off 6 balls.

A yorker, on middle and leg. Sean Abbott tries to jam it out. But the ball takes the inside edge and it rolls past the stumps towards the keeper for a single.
