Right then! That is it from this game but the action continues as Brisbane Heat take on Adelaide Strikers on Thursday, 23rd December at 6:45 pm Local (8:15 am GMT). Do join us for the same. Till then, Adios!
Mitchell Marsh is the Player of the match, he says that it was a great win but they were tested in the middle due to the way Finch batted. Adds that this season has been fun so far and the team is doing really well. Says that if they hadn't gotten the wicket of Maddinson, then they could have lost the game.
Jason Behrendorff found good swing in the first over and that might have raised their hopes of another victory. But soon those hopes started shattering as bowlers were hammered all around the park by Finch and Maddinson. But just when things were drifting away Mitchell Marsh, the man with a golden arm got the important wicket of the Melbourne Renegades skipper. Ashton Agar then delivered a knockout punch by dismissing both Finch and Nabi in one over and that made way for another Perth Scorchers victory. They have backed up a good batting performance with another impressive bowling performance on this good batting turf.
The wicket in the first over and one might have thought that Melbourne Renegades will bat cautiously atleast for the first few overs. But the experienced duo of Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson had other plans and they counter-attacked, dispatching Perth Scorchers bowlers all around the park. Maddinson departed in the 14th over after a well-made fifty and pressure started building after that. Finch and Nabi departed in the same over and that killed the hopes Renegades had of chasing this big total.
So Perth Scorchers continue their impressive winning run. They win by 21 runs. Perth Scorchers were put under pressure by Nic Maddinson and Aaron Finch with a brilliant partnership but once they departed, Perth Scorchers made sure that they get another clinical victory under their belt.
