Pakistan beat West Indies by 120 runs

Right then, that is all we have from this game. Pakistan have a 2-0 lead in this series and with series already in their bag, they would be looking to grab the remaining 10 points of the World Cup Super League in the next game. West Indies also would like to finish on high and get those crucial 10 points. The final ODI will be played on Sunday, 12th of June and it will start at 4.30 pm IST (11 am GMT). Our coverage though will start in advance. So do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Babar Azam, the skipper of Pakistan, says early on, the wicket was two-paced so they just wanted to build a partnership. Adds that due to the middle order collapse they were short of a few runs. Regarding Khushdil Shah, they wanted to give him the finishing role but he applauds the tailenders for scoring crucial runs. Shares that he knew their spinners will get purchase and lauds the way they bowl.
Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of West Indies, says that it was a tough game for them. Tells that they gave away 20 runs extra and adds that the conditions were tough. Mentions that their death bowling has been an issue for quite a long time and they are a young team and hopefully they will improve. Tells that credit should be given to Nawaz for the way he bowled and the conditions were tough and they needed to build partnerships and there were many soft dismissals. Hopes that they will learn from the experience and come back better in the next game.
Mohammad Nawaz is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant spell of 10-0-19-4. He says he was just focusing on his basics and to bowl in good areas. Adds that the way the ball was spinning, he had an idea and he knew there was some help in this pitch for the spinners. Tells that finger spinners are comparatively easier to play but they too were getting some spin. Shares that he is confident with the bat too and as an all-rounder he only wants to improve.
Time for the Presentation.
Earlier in the game, West Indies bowlers bowled well to restrict Pakistan to a par score of 275. The pitch had some help for spinners as Akeal Hosein showed with the ball in hand bowling a very good spell and picking up three wickets on the way. Pakistan lost the way with the bat in the middle after yet another century partnership between Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam. Both of them got to their respective fifties but overall, it was their brilliant bowling performance, especially the pressure their spinners built in the middle overs that won them this game.
This game was another classic example of how much West Indies are dependent on Shai Hope to bat through the innings. He departed in the first over and though there was a good counter-attacking partnership between Mayers and Brooks, the real test was always going to be against the spinners on the track that had some help for them. Mayers lost his wicket off the last ball of the Powerplay 1 and that opened the floodgates as spinners were brought into the attack by Babar Azam. Nawaz struck in his very first over and skipper, Pooran joined Brooks in the middle. However, after a 30 runs partnership, Nawaz got rid of Brooks and West Indies were soon restricted to 120-7 and eventually were bowled out for just 155. Nawaz finished with four wickets while Wasim took three and Shadab finished with two wickets. Not to forget, Shaheen Afridi who took a big wicket of Shai Hope in the very first over.
What a bowling performance this has been from Pakistan! They have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in this three-match ODI series and have grabbed 20 important World Cup Super League points from this series so for. For West Indies, on the other hand, this game will be an eye-opener in terms of showing them how much they need to improve in order to compete with the best in the business in an ODI game.

OUT! LBW! Another one bites the dust! Shadab Khan with a nicely tossed up delivery that pitches on off and turns into the batter. Walsh tries to drive it away but misses. The ball hits his pads and there is an appeal. The umpire raises his finger but Hayden Walsh reviews it. The Ball Tracking shows that it is umpire's call on wickets hitting and the decision stays. Hayden Walsh has to walk back.
