That concludes the proceedings for this match. It's a quick turnaround as the third T20I is on 23rd September (Friday) at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) and we are looking forward to your company. Do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, is also the Player of the Match for his 110* off 66 balls. Says that the discussion in the dressing room during the break was to believe in themselves as this target is chasable and they have done it in the past. Feels that under lights, the pitch becomes better for batting. Calls it a proper T20 surface and admits that they gave away a few extra runs. Praises the knock of Mohammad Rizwan. Regarding his batting, Rizwan smiles and adds that he believed in himself and the teammates supported him when the runs were not coming.
Moeen Ali, the English skipper, says that it was a very good score but the wicket was a brilliant one and didn't assist the bowlers in the second half. Talks about the dropped catch and he admits that his own over, where he conceded 21 runs, shifted the momentum completely. Praises the stand between Ben Duckett and Philip Salt and he is pleased with the way England batted. Shares that it's hard to read the pitch and credits the knocks of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
The pitch played brilliantly in this match. England enjoyed their time and at the halfway mark, it appeared that they have got enough but the lack of wickets and failure to get a chance to put the Pakistan middle order to test cost the visiting team. This is just the start of the series and with Pakistan bouncing back, we are in for a cracker.
England were outplayed with the ball. They were pretty much flat throughout and struggled to break the opening stand. Mohammad Rizwan did offer them a few chances - on 23 (dropped by Alex Hales), 32 (stumping missed) and 83 (dropped by Moeen Ali) but England didn't take any and from thereon, it was one-way traffic. Babar Azam was a bit slow off the blocks but once he got into his groove, we were treated to some incredible strokeplay from him. Babar roared back to form with a stupendous century and the spectators had a ball cheering for him.
Extraordinary chase from Pakistan. They scaled down a big target without much discomfort and have brought this 7-match series on level terms, 1-1. In terms of getting answers to their shortcomings, the hosts didn't gain much as the middle order was not tested at all while the other department of their game was quite below par on the field. Still, it's a win to lift the confidence of the team, and they will hope to get things fixed in other areas.
