Presentation time...
Earlier, in the game, Southern Brave bowlers did pretty well to restrict Northern Superchargers to a par score. The youngters, Rehan Ahmed and Sonny Baker were quite impressive and they would have fancied their chances of chasing down this total. No batter from the home side was able to get a significant score on the board. However, it turned out to be enough in the end, as their bowlers have delivered a strong performance here.
Northern Superchargers would be proud of the way they bowled in this game. They did not have a big total to defend but their bowlers showed lot of character and never let the game drift away from them. This was despite the fact that they were plenty of misfields in the middle. Wayne Parnell was brilliant especially in the death and finished with four wickets which includes a big one of Paul Stirling at the start and then got rid of two set-batters, Rehan Ahmed and James Fuller when they were put slightly under the pump. Willey and spinners were good too and overall it was a complete bowling performance by the home side.
Northern Superchargers bowlers started on a bright note and got four big wickets inside first 30 balls. It is difficult for any team to stand up from that position but Southern Brave bat deep and have plenty of quality in their arsenal. After all the big guns were gone, Rehan Ahmed who was promoted to number 5 showed some good fighting spirit and found an able partner in the form of James Fuller. Both brought Southern Brave back in this game but it was always going to be tough for them against a quality bowling attack and once Rehan Ahmed and James Fuller departed, it was game over for Southern Brave.
Northern Superchargers have clinched their last game of the season with a fantastic performance! This was always going to be a spicy chase with a quality bowling attack going up against a strong batting line-up and in the end after many twists and turns, the home side have managed to end their season on a high.
