Mohammad Rizwan, the winning captain of Multan Sultans, says that they planned the chase well and concentrated on running between the wickets. Adds that he has been doing a similar job opening for Pakistan with Babar Azam. Tells that they planned to not give wickets to Rashid Khan who was getting some grip.
Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, says that it was a great game and credits Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan for their outstanding batting. Feels that they need to improve their fielding and focus on bowling more yorkers.
SHAN MASOOD IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH! Says that the basics matter in every game and shares that they faced a similar situation in one of the practice games against Zalmi. Tells that they gave respect to the class bowlers upfront and once set, they went after the bowlers. On his running between the wickets with Mohammad Rizwan, Shan smiles and terms it a proper lung test.
Presentation time...
In the game dominated by the batsmen, Shaheen Afridi bowled a stupendous 19th over, in which, he picked up two wickets and more importantly conceded only a run. With 16 runs needed off the last over, Lahore appeared to be the favourites but Khushdil Shah spoiled their party with his timely cameo. Two wins in two games for Multan Sultans and they have started their title defense in style.
We witnessed some great batting in this match! Fakhar Zaman started it all and his partnership with Abdullah Shafique set the tone for Lahore Qalandars. They raced away with a massive score on the board but their bowlers failed to turn up. Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood were in belligerent form. The former, as usual, was fluent from the word go while the latter was a bit fidgety to start with. However, Shan Masood quickly got some momentum going into his innings and smashed a 50-ball 83. The 150-run stand for the opening wicket always kept Multan Sultans on top in the chase but once Rizwan was dismissed in the 17th over, Lahore Qalandars got a sniff.
Khushdil Shah has done it! The pressure was mounting but he showed zero nerves and smashed a 4-ball 18 to steer Multan Sultans over the line. What a cracking game, yet another high-scoring humdinger. This season of the Pakistan Super League is up and running in style.

FOUR! Thumped down the ground! A full toss, on off. Khushdil Shah smacks it straight down the ground. The fielders from long on and long off cannot get there. It is quite high but they decide that it is not a no ball.
David Willey is the new batter. 16 needed off the last over. Haris Rauf speeds in...

OUT! TAKEN! What is happening out there? How did we get there? This should have been over by now but some brilliant bowling by Lahore Qalandars has put them on top! Another brilliant yorker, around off. Sohaib Maqsood looks to hit it away but gets the outside edge. The ball goes to point and Mohammad Hafeez dives forward to catch it. Just 1 run and 2 wickets from that over!

Was that a wide? Full toss, wide outside off. Sohaib Maqsood has backed away a bit and leaves it thinking that it will be a wide. But the umpire decides not to stretch his arms.
Khushdil Shah is in next.

OUT! TAKEN! What an over this has been by Shaheen Afridi so far! Yorker, on middle and leg. David goes for the flick but gets the leading edge to long on. Abdullah Shafique takes it with ease. They check for the no ball and it is a close call. Shaheen Afridi has landed right on the crease. It seems like there is something behind the line and the TV umpire calls it a legal delivery. 16 needed off 8 balls.
