Right then, Lahore ends up at the top of the table, and Karachi ended yet another unsuccessful season with a victory against the table toppers. Lahore Qalandars will face off against Multan Sultans in the qualifier one on Wednesday 15th March. The match will begin at 7.30 IST (2 pm GMT). Cheers!
Muhammad Akhlaq is chosen for the Player of the Match award. His performance of 51 runs in no time helped Karachi Kings to run riots tonight and acted as the game-deciding performance.
In reply to the target set by Karachi, Lahore Qalandars started off in the worst possible manner as the team was three down inside the Power Play scoring just 31. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and this had a massive impact on the flow of scoring runs. No batter stood up for Lahore to take them through this target. A lack of partnerships and poor shot selection has cost them this game. For Karachi Imad Wasim, Akif Javed, Mohammad Umar and Imran Tahir were sensational as they scalped a couple each while James Fuller took a wicket too. The injury to Rashid Khan is something to worry about for Lahore Qalandars.
We are done with match no. 30 of the ongoing PSL 2023 as Karachi Kings have defeated Lahore Qalandars by 86 runs. The game started off well for Lahore Qalandars as they got rid of Haider Ali in the first over itself but the stable performance from both Muhammad Akhlaq and Tayyab Tahir brought them back into contention for a better platform to launch at the later stages. Imad Wasim and Ben Cutting did really well and got the team to a mammoth total of 197 for the loss of 7 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Muhammad Akhlaq was the top scorer for them as he smashed 51 runs. For Lahore Zaman Khan, Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat scalped a couple each while Dilbar Hussain picked up a wicket too.
