That is all from this game. Lahore Qalandars are underway in the tournament. Time for match number 5 and it will be Rangpur Riders taking on Victoria. Join us at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us early on for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Luke Wells is the Player of the Match. He says the conditions were tough as the balls were keeping low but they had to score a competitive total and it was enough in the end. Shares he utilized the breeze flowing across and used the crease as well but all in all happy to help the team get off the mark.
Hampshire were timid with their batting approach. They chewed too many dots in the middle phase and that asked the lower order to do a big job. Prest started well by dealing in boundaries. However, once he fell there wasn't much happening as the runs dried up. Benny Howell brought some energy into the game but fell at the pivotal moment. James Fuller though hung in there till the end. His two sixes in the last over brought some joy back in the dugout but it was shortly expired.
A solid performance from Lahore Qalandars and they get their first win of the season. They read the conditions really well. Lahore Qalandars mostly used spinners and the seamers mostly bowled on the slower side. Luke Wells bowled well. Tabraiz Shamsi took wickets at key intervals but it was Carlos Brathwaite's final over that made the difference. He had plenty runs to defend but two sixes in the over just made things interesting. Carlos Brathwaite though took it upon his chest and kept his nerves as Lahore Qalandars won by 4 runs.
