Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the macth, the Konark Suryas Odisha opted to bowl first against the Gujarat Greats. Gujarat started strong with a partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Chris Gayle but faced a dramatic collapse due to Kevon Copper's historic hat-trick, taking four wickets in one over. This led to Gujarat plummeting from a comfortable position to 68/6. A late push from Seekkuge Prasanna and Debabrata Das, who contributed a 42-run partnership, helped them set a total of 141 runs.
The Gujarat Greats had a disappointing outing as they struggled to exert pressure on the Odisha batters throughout the match. Seekkuge Prasanna struck early by dismissing Richard Levi, but the bowling attack failed to capitalize on this breakthrough. Manan Sharma and Jerome Taylor picked up one wicket each towards the end of the innings, but their efforts were insufficient to contain the opposition's scoring. Overall, the Greats' bowling lacked penetration, leaving the Odisha batsmen largely unchallenged.
Konark Suryas Odisha have made their way in the Qualifier 1 as they manage to finish in the top 2! They got off to a brisk start in their innings, with openers Richard Levi and Dilshan Munaweera laying a solid foundation through aggressive batting. Levi was dismissed in the 7th over, after which Kevin O'Brien took the reins with his explosive hitting. Dilshan Munaweera fell too but the skipper, Irfan Pathan played an impressive knock of 19 runs of just 6 balls at the end, which helped them end up in the top 2!
