Lahore Qalandars beat Karachi Kings by 6 wickets
So, that is it from this game then! PSL action continues on Monday! Just the one game coming your way though as it is Quetta against Multan. That game will begin at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care!
The skipper of Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi says that he is happy they have won tonight and they just wanted to play positive cricket, trying to play their attacking bowlers when required. He adds that everyone bowled well and he is trying to get advice from the senior players because he is new to the role. He goes on to applaud Fakahr and the way he played tonight and took them home on his own and wishes that his good run of form continues.
Babar Azam, captain of Karachi Kings says that they had a good start but after the first six overs they didn't get a big partnership. He then applauds the way Fakhar played because the total was a good one but his one-man show did the job for the opposition. He adds that the fast bowlers found it difficult in the end to get it right and that was a let down. He also mentions the fact that the bowling and batting both need to be a bit better to win matches in the future.
Fakhar Zaman is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant ton! Zaman says that he is trying to play every ball on its merit and is looking not to do anything out of the ordinary. He adds that spinners were getting the ball to grip and that's why he played them with respect early on and looked to take them on later in the innings. He adds that he's trying to control the extra slogging.
Presentation time...
Samit Patel is down for a quick chat. He says there was a little bit of pressure but Zaman's knock was fantastic and he's in great form. He mentions that Fakhar stays calm and that's how he is, it was pure class tonight from him. Adds that Afridi is really passionate and it is just great to see. Ends by saying that it's brilliant to be back and playing this tournament.
The bowling from Karachi was decent for most parts! They managed to take wickets at regular intervals and also did not let Lahore score freely. That catch though, a tough one which was dropped of Zaman cost them the game. Had that been taken, the story could have well been different. From then on, the momentum shifted completely and they ended up on the losing side.
The chase did not begin in the best of fashion though as they lost Abdullah Shafique and Kamran Ghulam inside the Powerplay! Hafeez and Zaman then steadied the ship but the former thn fell. Zaman though held fort at one end, he played an absolute blinder of a knock. He got to his ton but fell shortly, he had done his job though as he took his side to the brink of a win. Patel in the end ensured there were no upsets and finished the game for his side.
A very good chase in the end by Lahore! What an innings that was from Zaman! Have to say, he was well and truly the difference between the two sides. Take his ton out and the story could have well been different.

FOUR! A boundary to seal the chase and Samit Patel has finished things off in style! Banged in short, around off. Patel pulls it high and well over mid off for a boundary. Lahore Qalandars are off the mark in the tournament and they win by 6 wickets!

FOUR! Samit Patel with a lovely deft touch. Full and wide, Patel advances a bit too much but adjusts well to steer it fine and into the third man fence.

WIDE! Gregory sees Patel advancing and pulls back the length and he pushes it wide too. A bit too wide though.
A late call from the skipper and it's going to be Lewis Gregory to bowl the final over.

OUT! TAKEN! This has been brilliant over from Umaid Asif and there still might be a late twist here. A good short ball, outside off. Fakhar Zaman looks to upper cut but lifts it finer than he would have liked. There's not much timing on it either and the ball goes down the throat of the fielder at the third man fence. Imad Wasim holds on to the catch and that will be the end of a scintillating innings. Zaman receives rounds of applause as he makes his way back. 7 off 7 required now.

Full and wide, Patel throws his hands at it. The ball flies off the outside edge and goes on the bounce to third man. Single taken.
