That's it from this game but don't go anywhere as Galle Marvels will face Colombo Strikers shortly. So, switch the tabs and join us for the action there. Till then, cheers!
Charith Asalanka says he bowled because there were two left-handers in the middle. Tells Dhananjaya de Silva bowled really well. Shares it was a phenomenal game, Avishka Fernando's innings gave them real energy.
Mohammad Nabi says they had enough total on the board, they started well with the ball but Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando played well. Tells the runs in the middle phase cost them the game.
Avishka Fernando wins the Player of the Match award.
....Presentation...
We felt Dambulla Sixers were 10-15 runs short. Despite scoring 191, they lost just two wickets in 20 overs. Kusal Perera scored a fabulous ton but credit to Dambulla Sixers who pulled things back in the last four overs. They gave nothing away and it just shows how important it turned out to be. Dambulla Sixers in the chase started well but maybe Mohammad Nabi could have been a bit clever with his bowlers. However, they had the runs but Dambulla Sixers failed to defend such a huge score.
Jaffna Kings are off the mark this season! Some incredible batting from the Kings. They lost three wickets in the Powerplay and a partnership was need of the hour. Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando joined hands and stitched a massive partnership of around 120 runs. They were cautious at the start but eventually both hit the bowlers out of the park. They hit 77 runs in four overs in the middle phase. Avishka Fernando was the aggressor all the while and Charith Asalanka played the second hand. Both fell but Jaffna Kings needed run-a-ball at that time and the job was done by the other batters.
