That is all from this game but don't go anywhere as we have one more game lined up for you. Galle Marvels will take on Kandy Falcons shortly. So, switch the tabs and join us for that game. Till then, cheers!
Charith Asalanka starts by crediting the way bowlers bowled and says at one point it felt like Colombo Strikers will score around 220. Tells they are looking forward to playing at Colombo.
Thisara Perera says it is a tough day, they didn't execute the plan but now they have to think about the next match. Adds Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sadeera Samarawickrama are really good wicket keeper but they gave a chance to Sadeera Samarawickrama in previous games.
Rilee Rossouw wins the Player of the Match award. He says the two games they played have been really good to bat on. Adds he just gave himself some time and they are fortunate that Jaffna Kings bat right till the end and it helps him to play his game.
...Presentation next...
Colombo Strikers were clearly few runs short but they still had a decent total on the board. They started well with the ball, taking two wickets early on of the openers but then came the onslaught from Rilee Rossouw who came in with intent and went all guns blazing from from the start. Rossouw was dealing in sixes and with Avishka Fernando on the other hand nudging it around, both added 120 runs together to get the required run rate well below 10. Avishka Fernando fell after his fifty, but the spotlight was on Rilee Rossouw, who scored the fastest hundred in LPL's history. Rilee Rossouw treated us with an absolute masterclass today.
A fantastic victory for Jaffna Kings and they remain on top of the table with 8 points. The win though was plotted by the bowlers. At one stage, Colombo Strikers scored 138 runs in 13 overs and were all set to post a mammoth total of over 200 but once Angelo Perera got retired hurt, it went all downhill for them. They lost four wickets in two wickets while runs absolutely dried up for them.
