The captain of India Women Under-19, Shafali Verma says that the pitch was a bit slow and the ball was not coming onto the bat. Adds that the bowlers used the conditions really well. Mentions that it was a team decision to shuffle up the batting order as they wanted to give confidence to every player before going into the next stage.
Scotland Women Under-19 skipper, Katherine Fraser says that their innings just fell apart unfortunately. Adds that the nerves and the pressure got the better of them and they haven't played much cricket against the big sides. Mentions that they have enjoyed playing at this venue and look forward to their playoff match.
Mannat Kashyap (4-0-12-4) is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her match-winning effort with the ball. Mannat says that it was a good feeling bowling on this wicket. Adds that it was turning a bit and but not as much as she expected. Mentions that there was no pressure on her to perform as she has the backing of the team.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Shafali Verma opted to bat first on a pitch that was used and wasn't the best for batting and it showed. India Women Under-19 found it difficult to get the ball away and a shuffle in the batting order didn't help either. Gongadi Trisha though made full use of her opportunity to open the innings and made a solid half-century. It was then, the in-form batter Shweta Sehrawat who played a blistering cameo towards the end that helped India set a target of 150 runs. For Scotland Women Under-19, the bowlers bowled well in general with skipper Katherine Fraser ending up with a couple of wickets. Onto the chase then and after a solid start from the openers, Scotland Women Under-19 were overwhelmed by the quality Indian spinners and succumbed to a big loss.
Scotland Women Under-19 will feel they let go of the opportunities presented to them in this game, both with the bat as well as with the ball. The openers, Ailsa Lister and Darcey Carter started off well and were able to get the boundaries inside the Powerplay but as soon as Lister fell, things started to fall apart. No one that came in even got to double figures apart from the openers with Carter top-scoring with 24 runs. Their batters had no answers for the Indian spinners and will be disappointed to have lost all their games so far.
After that late flourish from Shweta Sehrawat with the bat, India Women Under-19 did have momentum with them heading into the break. But the pacers, Titas Sadhu and Yashasri didn't start off well. It was only when Mannat Kashyap was brought into the attack that India were able to pick up wickets. The fielding in the early stages wasn't up to the mark either but Kashyap and Archana Devi simply ran through the Scotland Women Under-19 batting line-up with the former picking up 4 wickets and the latter ending with 3. All the wickets went to the spinners barring the run out as Sonam Yadav too picked up a couple of wickets. It was clinical in the end from India.
India Women Under-19 have overpowered Scotland Women Under-19 to make it three wins out of three and head into the Super 6s stage of the competition unbeaten. They do look like a side on a mission and will now look to carry the same momentum in the next stage of the competition.

Nayma Shaikh looks to reach out and drive but gets a faint outside edge on it. Richa Ghosh at first slip pouches it safely with both hands and the resistance from Shaikh comes to an end.
