Time for the Presentation.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, Pakistan were in trouble when they were 4 down for not a lot but Ayesha Naseem and Bismah Maroof added 81 in no time to take them to a good score. Jemimah Rodrigues though along with Richa Ghosh played brilliantly to taken India over the line.
Pakistan will be disappointed with how the pacers bowled! Their spinners were decent, especiall, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal but the spells from Fatima Sana and Aiman Anwer took the game away. They bowled far too many boundary balls which cost them the game. Had the two spinners got support from the others, the story could have well been different.
Chasing a stiff target, India lost a wicket early. Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the ship with a handy stand. Just as the game was drifting away from Pakistan, they got Verma. Kaur came out and played with intent but when she fell, the game was hanging in the balance. The run rate went over 10 heading into the last 4 but Jemimah Rodrigues played brilliantly, she was well supported by Richa Ghosh who survived a review and the two ensured it is India who finish on top.
That is a fine, fine innings from Jemimah Rodrigues and she is the main reason for her side getting over the line. Absolutely brilliant from her. Despite the run rate needed going up, despite seeing wickets fall at the other end, she kept her cool and has given her side a very important win.
