Nathan McSweeney WINS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says Matt Renshaw played well and it helped him get used to the condition, luckily the Power Surge went his way and says he is happy to help the team. Shares it's nice to bounce back, tells it was surreal to share the dressing room with the Australian team. Mentions Marnus Labuschagne told him, it's not how it starts but how it ends, says it was a great learning curve for him and is happy to bounce back. Shares Brisbane is his home and it was nice to play in front of the home crowd. Feels they are playing with some youngsters but it's exciting.
Adelaide Strikers had the momentum at the halfway mark. That Jamie Overton's inning really helped them to get a competitive total and even, the way they started with the ball helped them to stay in the driving seat. However, A couple of huge overs in the middle phase didn't help them. Credit though to Scott to keep it alive till the final ball but the luck was against them we feel, as it could have gone anywhere.
Wow! It was a real roller coaster. The momentum changed numerous times throughout the chase but Brisbane Heat edge past the line on the final delivery. Well, it was a tough target for Heat first of all but Matt Renshaw played really well for his fifty. He was on a carnage while McSweeney watched it all from the other end. He played the second fiddle but once Matt Renshaw fell, he took the matter into his own hands. It felt like an easy win but McSweeney wasn't able to get on the strike in the last couple of overs. However, Mitchell Swepson's managed to get his bat on the final ball to get them over the line.
The iconic Gabba has produced and absolute thriller! What a couple of months Nathan McSweeney is having. He might have been dropped from the Australian Test team but this inning just shows how mature he has been.
