Right then, it is the end of Super Sunday here in the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023 and we have witnessed a couple of fascinating but fairly one-sided games. Dindigul with this win have gone top of the points table by virtue of a better net run rate and will look to keep up the form. The action though continues on Monday, the 19th of June as Kovai go up against Chepauk in a high-octane clash. That game will begin at 7.15 pm IST (1.45 pm GMT) but our build-up will begin sooner. Cheers!
Subodh Bhati is adjudged the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant performance with the ball.
Two losses to start the campaign for Madurai and they will feel they could have done much better in this game. After losing an early wicket, Jagatheesan Kousik and Hari Nishaanth added on a stand of 56 runs to get them going but soon they lost their way with the bat and kept on losing wickets. They managed to scrape through to a score of 123 which was certainly below par. On the bowling front, Gurjapneet Singh was on fire early on picking up three wickets in his first three overs but Madurai couldn't capitalize and failed to pick up another wicket. They were soon blown away by the brilliance of Baba Indrajith.
Dindigul make it two wins out of two and it has been a thoroughly clinical display from them. After a solid bowling performance where Varun Chakaravarthy once again picked up a couple of vital wickets, they did a fine job with the bat as well. Also, P Saravan Kumar and Subodh Bhati picked up three wickets each to put Dindigul on top. They didn't have a good start with the bat losing three early wickets but then Baba Indrajith played a blinder of a knock finishing with an unbeaten 78 off 48 balls. Adithya Ganesh gave him good support and the pair added on 92 runs for the 4th wicket and chased down the target with plenty of balls to spare.
