Soumya Sarkar is the POTM. In the interview, he says that these points are very important for the team as well as a big win is obviously going to help the run rate which is going to be very important in the coming days for them. He ends by saying that its always a good thing to perform for the side and he is very happy with how the game turned out to be.
Taskin Ahmed the skipper of Durdanto Dhaka says that the Fortune Barishal batters batted well in the middle overs, got a partnership going, and stuck to it till the end. Something that Durdanto Dhaka has not been able to do in the tournament and thats why they stand where they do. He adds that the target could have been chased down but the batters lacked intent. Ends by saying that they will work on making better plans and come back strong.
... PRESENTATION ...
Durdanto Dhaka is at the bottom of the table and the main reason is the batting. The batters are not taking up the responsibility of scoring runs at the start and then staying behind the 8 ball throughout. Another disappointing batting performance at the start of the innings, but it was then Alex Ross, who got some form back, scoring a well-played FIFTY under the circumstances. The target was way higher for one man to achieve and Alex Ross did not get any support from the other end. In the end Durdanto Dhaka managed 149 on the board and lost yet another game by 40 runs.
That is the end of the game and Durdanto Dhaka have lost another game in this season of Bangladesh Premier League. Fortune Barishal batted first and scored a good total of to189 thanks to Soumya Sarkar with his 75 runs off 44 balls. The partnership with Mahmudullah in the middle overs led to the foundation for the explosive end of the innings. Fortune Barishal started off weak, losing early wickets to the Durdanto Dhaka fast bowlers. The duo of Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah then stitched up a partnership of 136 runs and got their team to a very good first-innings score. The Fortune Barishal bowlers were on point from the start and did not give anything away to the batters. They kept picking up wickets at regular intervals and kept pushing the Durdanto Dhaka to the backfoot. Mohammad Saifuddin, the pick of the bowler picked up 3 crucial wickets along with Obed McCoy and Mehidy Hasan too bowling really well. In the end Fortune Barishal turned out to be the better team in the two, tonight.
