91/10(15.5ov)
Jaffna Kings beat Colombo Stars by 102 runs
So, that is it from this game! The action does not end here though as there is another game coming your way and it is an important one. It is a clash between the Giants and the Warriors. That game begins at 1930 local (1400 GMT). See you there!
Thisara Perera says they will be trying a few players in the next game as well and he is happy with how the youngsters did in this game. States if they play good cricket, they can surely do well in the next two games too and they are always trying to give their best. Mentions he is not bowling because he has 5 good bowlers but he might in Hambantota as the wicket suits the pacers.
Angelo Mathews says they were not firing with the bat throughout the tournament and hence, they needed to change things. Adds they have one game left and they need to win that. States Perera and Banton did not do that well at the top and they wanted to just see how they do down the order and they will fire.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore, MAN OF THE MATCH, says he would have loved a ton but his first aim is to do well for his team and get the two points. States all the players are hitting form at the right time and he hopes they can continue the form.
... PRESENTATION TIME ...
Like they have been in the tournament, the Jaffna Kings' bowlers were on song. Their spinners were brilliantly and even the pacers played their part. Seales was the pick with a four-fer but everybody bowled well. Overall, it was a clinical performance from the Kings despite resting two important players. They have sealed their place at the top of the table with this win.
Another thumping win for the Kings! They just seem unbeatable at the moment. Something close to 200 was always going to be an uphill task and if they were going to come close, they needed a good start but that was not the case. They lost three within the Powerplay. Banton and Perera then tried re-build but Perera fell. Banton was the only one fighting it out there, he was the only one who crossed the 20-run mark. That probably indicates how poor the Stars were with the bat. In the end, they have lost by more than 100 runs.
