That concludes the proceedings for Thursday. The action in the CPL, 2021 continues as on the 4th of September 2021, we have two games coming our way as usual - Saint Lucia Kings vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at 10 am local (2 pm GMT) followed by the clash between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals at 2.30 pm local (6.30 pm GMT). Do join us for all the action. Cheers!
Dwayne Bravo, the skipper of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots says that he is happy with 5 wins from 5 and says that games like these make the competition even stronger. Tells that Nyeem Young is a fantastic player and the Royals should play him more often.
Jason Holder, the skipper of Barbados Royals says that he was satisfied with the batting. Feels that they were maybe 10-15 runs short. Tells that they wanted wickets from Lintott and he did really well. Credits Nyeem Young as well for his amazing performance with the ball and also on the field.
Sheldon Cottrell is the Player of the Match! He says that as a bowler, you don't get to bat much so he just went out there and tried to swing his bat around. Mentions that he has been in a situation like this before, so he knows what it's like. Says that he understands Drakes well and is glad that he contributed to get the team over the line.
The bowling by Barbados Royals was good for the most part but when it mattered the most, towards the end of the innings, they really derailed and that has cost them this game. The 17th over seemed to be the turning point when Reifer went for 21 runs and the door opened slightly for the opponents and they stormed through. Holder had a poor penultimate over as well, leaking 18 runs, which steered the momentum away. Nyeem Young had a really good game, as he bowled supremely well and also ended with 3 to his name. Jake Lintott had a game to remember too, as he took 2 wickets, which included the wicket of Chris Gayle. Overall though, had they held their nerve in the death overs, they could have come out victorious.
The run chase just never seemed to be in control for the table-toppers. They started off nicely though as Lewis and Thomas started steadily, but, Lewis did not hang around for long. Gayle and Thomas had a good stand of 49 runs, but once Thomas departed, their batting line-up just catapulted, as from a position of 84/1 to 98/6, losing 5 wickets in the span of 14 runs. At this point, it seemed like this game was all done and dusted but Cottrell came out and along with a handy knock by Drakes, they stormed over the line and won by 2 wickets!
WOW, WOW, WOW! What a game this was! What a stunning finish to the clash between these two. At one point, it looked like St Kitts and Nevis Patriots would not even come close as the run chase had derailed but Sheldon Cottrell stayed out there until the end and a big six on the last ball of the game sees St Kitts and Nevis Patriots continue their unbeaten run as they win their fifth game of the season. Heartbreak for Barbados Royals as they came very close to winning this game, but just could not cross the finish line.

SIX! Sheldon Cottrell, you beauty! The crowd is going bonkers. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots players are going nuts as well. It is like they have won a World Cup final. Nurse bowls a loopy ball around off, Sheldon Cottrell stands tall and hammers it over long off for a maximum. He knew it was a six as soon as he hit that. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots win by 2 wickets!

OUT! BOWLED! Tossed it up on leg, Dominic Drakes gets low on one knee and looks to slog-sweep but misses it completely. The ball skids through and rattles the stumps. 5 needed from 2 balls.

FOUR! Streaky but St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won't mind at all. A full toss on middle, Dominic Drakes looks to pull but miscues. The ball goes off the top edge towards third man for a boundary. There is an argument regarding the height of the ball but the umpires do not take it upstairs.
