The skipper of West Indies, Shai Hope says he is very pleased with the way the team has performed. Mentions they always look for improvement and runs at the top is always a good sign of learning from previous mistakes. Adds that it is great to be 2 games to nil up in the series as that opens the window for the squad member to have some game time. Closes by saying every game is important and they will be eyeing for a clean sweep.
The skipper of Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan says that they did not bat well in the middle overs and they failed to put up any partnership of significance. Adds that the Windies bowlers bowled well and losing wicket sin a cluster was the main reason for this defeat. Closes by saying that the Rana bowled well but they did not have much on board.
Jayden Seales is the POTM and he says he feel incredible to have contributed to the team's victory. Adds that he adjusted his line and length well and he was rewarded for that. Mentions that it feels nice to have taken the responsibility to lead the attack in the absence of Alzarri Joseph. Credits Marquino Mindley for a fantastic debut game.
Stay tuned for the presentation.
Bangladesh's batting innings got off to a shaky start, and they struggled to gain momentum. Despite scoring freely in the Power Play, they lost wickets at regular intervals, which hindered their progress. Tanzid Hasan narrowly missed out on a half-century. Mahmudullah's valuable contribution down the order helped Bangladesh post a respectable total, giving their bowlers a chance to level the series. Tanzim Hasan also chipped in with a crucial knock. The West Indies bowlers were exceptional, with Jayden Seales striking thrice early on and four times in total to put Bangladesh on the back foot. Gudakesh Motie also claimed two wickets, helping to restrict Bangladesh's scoring.
Bangladesh's bowling performance was underwhelming, as they struggled to contain the West Indies batsmen. The bowlers failed to make a significant impact, leaking runs freely and being punished by the Windies' aggressive batting. The only bright spots in an otherwise dismal bowling display were Nahid Rana, Rishad Hossain, and Afif Hossain, who each managed to claim a solitary wicket.
West Indies dominated the chase from the outset, never allowing their opponents to gain a foothold in the contest. A blistering opening partnership of over 100 runs between Brandon King and Evin Lewis set the tone for a comprehensive victory. The middle order, comprising Keacy Carty, Shai Hope, and Sherfane Rutherford, ensured a smooth sail to the finish line. Brandon King top-scored with a solid 82, guiding his team to a convincing win.
West Indies have won this contest by 7 wickets and they now sealed the series with a game to spare.
