Match Abandoned

Commentry
Well, the inevitable has happened. The match has been ABANDONED DUE TO RAIN. Sadly yet another game in this tournament has been called off! Second one for India Legends. The rain arrived one ball before the end of the Powerplay and did its damage. It did stop but the ground just wasn’t right to get the game to restart. The tournament though continues on the 21st September, 2022, as the teams now head down to Dehradun for the next leg of this competition. It will see a contest between West Indies Legends and New Zealand Legends. The first ball is at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Our build-up though begins much earlier. Till then, take care and goodbye!
UPDATE 10.24 pm IST (4.54 pm GMT) - Sachin Tendulkar is out on the field with the umpires having a closer look at the playing conditions. The officials are making him go through several wet patches on the outfield that can be a bit dangerous for the players. Still no official word!
UPDATE 10.10 pm IST (4.40 pm GMT) - It's been a while since the covers were being taken off, but still there are no words from the officials yet. The wait game goes on!
UPDATE 9.14 pm IST (3.44 pm GMT) - We come bearing some good news this time. The rain has passed by and the covers are coming off as well. The inspection should take place soon and we should have a clear picture of how this game progresses. Stay tuned!
UPDATE 8.47 pm IST (3.17 pm GMT) - It looks like the rain has stopped. There are a few officials on the field having a mini-conference. Although the covers still remain intact. Are the playing conditions going to be favourable for the players? Seems to be the conundrum now. Lets hope we get going soon.
UPDATE 8.16 pm IST (2.46 pm GMT) - It is not looking good at the moment. The rain is persistant and more covers are brought out to cover most of the outfield as well.
UPDATE 8.04 pm IST (2.34 pm GMT) - Slight hesitation from the umpires here. It has started to drizzle although the players stay still. Not for long though as the umpires ask the players to walk off. The groundstaff gets the covers on the field. Hopefully, it is just a passing shower and we get going soon.

DROPPED! That was a dolly. James Franklin was the man. That was short, around off. Suresh Raina tries to pull this but miscues it. The ball was in the air for long time, James Franklin at mid off moves to his right, settles under it but was a bit too casual about the catch and it spills out in the end.
Change. Hamish Bennett comes into the attack now.
